About the event

There has been an increase of BIM use with Designers, so why can’t Contractors use BIM to help increase productivity and mitigate risks? In this session well go through what a contractor will use BIM in the pre-construction and construction phases. We’ll talk about the benefits of using BIM in construction modeling (3D), construction scheduling (4D), cost estimating (5D), site progress tracking and quality control.

Using BIM, data now has the means to coalesce, become information, and be analyzed as never before. Data granularity and its volume achieved around BIM opens the doors for the creation of a Google-like - virtual model-based browser for the built environment. Using BIM as a platform to integrate existing digital infrastructure, such as Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Management/Automation System (BMS/BAS) software enable better analytics, performance for operations, energy management, sustainability, business, and beyond.

We will talk about the requirements and how the BIM process could affect the efficiency of the building life cycle during Facility Management.
